This is an update to my post above that reported that I have uninstalled Office and cleaned the register. This morning I reinstalled Office I launched Microsoft Word After registering the program with my account, I opened a previously created Office document. After making the compatibility conversion, I found that all functions were working. The program did not lock up not responding and I believe the issue is resolved.
The printer issue is also resolved. The troubleshooter program found an error in the Spooler service and fixed it. The one I used to uninstall Office worked great. I highly recommend researching the knowledge base for your specific issue and using the “FIX IT” program.

This problem concerns Microsoft Word , and formerly Office Originally, the computer was equipped with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, and Office was installed. Recently I upgraded the OS to Windows The installation of Windows 10 proceded without problem and has been funcitioning well ever since.
All software currently installed, including Office , also have been functioning well since the upgrade to Windows On 10 October, a problem developed with MS Word While attempting to edit a document, upon saving the document extension was changed from “.
Word would no longer open that document, even though that extension was on the list of acceptable documents to Word Windows 95 to Evidently the document became corrupted during the saving process. Also, when I attempted to edit other documents in Word , upon choosing to save the changes, the cursor would change from the white arrow to a blue rotating circle, and in the top bar of the screen, the words ” not responding ” appeared after the name Microsoft Word.
My only option was to click the red “X” to close the program. Although, after closing the program it was possible to reopen the program, the same sequence would occur, i.
Sometimes on restarting the program, the file restore box would appear and the previous work woudl be available to use again. But trying to save or otherwise manipulate the file would cause Word to not respond. After trying many times to resolve the issue, folloing steps suggested in the Windows Community, I gave up and decided to pourchase the upgrade to Office which has the most recent versions of all components, e.

It does not respond to commands. This is so even if I start with a blank page. I can add and edit text, change fone style, etc. Edit existing documents but not change formating.
The cursor changes to a rotating blue circle and stays that way until I close the program by clicking the “X”. I realize there is a compatibility issue with using Word to ecit files created with Word I have followed the steps necessary to make the files compatible in Word I have been thinking of uninstalling Office , cleanins the system of all reference to Office programs and then re-installing Office Is that the recommended solution to this issue?
